Hannity comes on with his spleen vent
Leaving out facts that are inconvenient
And on YouTube anon
Is what really went on
Caught by one on the truth of the scene bent
O’Reilly comes on hair on fire
And screams out his crap to the choir
And the faithful Fox News cam
Captures each new scam
But the cheap little cell cam screams LIAR!
So it seems that our cell phone’s the answer
In killing the Fox/News Corp cancer
Do we believe all their lies
Or believe all our eyes

Great take on the media scam. We have a Public Enquiry into Press Standards going on here in the UK (thank you, Mr. Murdoch …..mock vomit) and they are being forced into admitting thatoften they just print lies for the hell of it.
Media manipulation is everywhere and I’m grateful for the man in the street who can tell the true story. Sometimes it’s the man in the street who has broken the story…. which is perfect for getting there before the censor” .
There is a famous bit of manipulation that everyone (okay, only those who care) knows about from Margaret Thatcher’s days. The miners were striking to preserve their jobs. Shown on TV News there was a stand-off between ranks of miners and ranks of mounted Police. The miners charged….the Police retaliated defending themselves…people got badly hurt… the public were outraged at the miners behaviour. It was some years later, when knowledge and the web could facilitate information flow, that the rest of us discovered that it happened the other way around. The cops waded in first. We, the Public, had been played.

I see local news showing clips sent in from viewers more and more; but we all have to take this source with a grain of salt as well though. My son’s friend is able to manipulate video with a fairly simple computer program into very funny videos – so it makes me wonder how easy would it be for someone to manipulate what they record as well. Hopefully all points of view will mesh together & we will see things for what they really are!

I do worry someday that the powers that be will figure out a way to close down the internet or curtail it because as long as it exists and the cell cam exists, it’s all over for the purveyors of lies and propaganda. And no matter what they do, the cat is out of the bag, the genie is out of the lamp, the shit has hit the fan and the “revolution” has begun. Good luck to us all.
