The Ballad of Ayatollah Santorum or: Hey – Why Shouldn’t Our Women Wear Burqas Anyway? And – What Does He Really Want?

, U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania.

If this repressed idiot

Should win what a pity it

Would signal that we’re certifiable

Might we then be condoning

Slave owning and stoning?

After all, they’re okay in Rick’s bible

And let’s not forget folks who are “smart”

Rick says they’re “Satanic” at heart

And the “elites” who’ve been taught

By these “smart” folk are fraught

With evil, hell bound in handcart

So be wary of those who pious fingers wag

While quoting their prayer books

And waving the flag.

Ayatollah Santorum

How the morons adore ‘im

He’s the new “great white hope” of the nutters

Cares not what leaves his trap

Long as Fox news will yap

About whatever this Taliban utters

Sex is dirty to Ricky

Just uses his dickie

Procreating for God’s greater glory

Nothing more in it

Than mount, pump one minute

Deposit, dismount, end of story

As a freak show none’s better

Than this freak in a sweater

And the religious right nutballs who adore ‘im

And Will Rogers I’d note

Would’ve never uttered his quote

If he’d but once met our boy Rick Santorum

He’s cold, calculating

Knows just who he’s baiting

And just who he hopes he can reel in

He’s making this noise

For the crowd who enjoys

That hate-filled fundamentalist feelin’

And who is this crowd

These folks who are wowed

By the “facts” from Rush Limbaugh and Hannity

To judge by their vicious

Tea bag malicious –

Ness, they’ve lost the thread of humanity

And Rick knows what he’s doin’

Out pandering to ‘em

For airtime like Coulter or Rush

Like them his gums flap

He delivers that crap

Hoping he pulls the big royal flush.

Yes Rick – I suspect

Knows that president-elect

Is out and this is his audition

So he’s delivering shocks

Bringing viewers to Fox

Lookin’ to land his dream Fox News position

And it’s easy to conceive

And to grant he believes

His rhetorical shtick’s doin’ the trick

And in his fever dream nights

There’s his name up in lights

“New – The Fox News Hour with Rick”

Fox News Channel

  1. I hope he’s more interested in a show than a presidency for all the reasons you’ve just cited. Another great piece of work about the ongoing race to the right.

  3. Oh this was so good. Your ballads keep getting better and better, and so spot on.
Didn’t need to click on the Will rogers quote, knew exactly which quote you were referring to heh.
    Tony you are my hero.
Between you and Don it’s cut my research time on the Internet way down.
Keep them coming my friend. Stick it to the fear mongers, cretins and born again Christians who will do anything to gain power… and will do nothing for our country or citizens.
    Bravo as always my friend

  7. You managed to mention all my favorite people- Limbaugh, Hannity, Coulter…
Maybe Santorum will get a reality tv show like Palin did and we can all NOT watch. That would be fun.

  8. For the first time, I have to take issue with your post, Tony.
Pretty sure the first paragraph is wrong – the fact that he’s gotten this far is already proof that a large segment of our population is certifiable.

Other than that, it’s another masterful piece!
