Another View From The Tea Party – Educated Division

Contrary to the email you’ve received to date from various other members of our Tea Party, my wife and I are both educated, well-informed university graduates, (me; Oral Roberts University Law School, she; Liberty UniversityLaw School).

Constitution of the United States of America

Constitution of the United States of America (Photo credit: The U.S. National Archives)

As attorneys, and students of the Constitution of these United States, we can both vouchsafe that there is nothing in it that says “citizens shall receive free healthcare”, or “an education”, nor is there anything in said document that says that “the government shall regulate food safety”, and, the last time I checked the Constitution (yesterday evening in bed after bedtime prayers), I saw nothing, not one single word which stated……that “there should be Federal Laws governing minimum wage”, or “child labor”, orMedicare”, and/or “environmental protection”. There is certainly nothing in the Constitution pertaining to that left-wing hoax “global warming.” Not “fracking”, or oil drilling, or solar energy, or any kind of renewable energy.

I repeat, none of these items are mentioned in our Original Constitution – as drawn up by some very smart men in 1787. And to top it all off, as one of the Republican Party’s great minds Rick Perry says in his must-read book “Fed Up”, there is the greatest “illegal Ponzi Scheme” of them all, Social Security, which as Perry says, “We have been forced to accept for more than 70 years!” Also, neither my good wife nor I see anything in the original Constitution that says “gays should have the same rights as everyone else.”

These programs are nothing more than dangerous Socialist ideas which all vigilant patriotic people must, and should, guard against, lest they destroy our beloved country. We don’t need them, and we will repeal them when Mitt Romney – and whoever – are elected. We republicans have important ideas about keeping our country moving in a proper direction – which I am sure we will soon outline – more defense spending, cutting taxes on the wealthy, privatizing Social Security, de-funding wasteful programs like Planned Parenthood, and the EPA and FEMA  – things like that. So please vote, the quality of our lives depends on it.

Remember – anybody but Obama!

  1. With all this Socialism and Commie bashing going on, tell me, are they not embarrassed that such a great proportion of US debt is now being bank-rolled by a truly repressive Communist state with one of the worst human rights records on the planet, China ? Which is now being brought to the fore as result of the dissident seeking refuge in the US embassy just before Hils arrives. Neat.

  3. What’s ‘fracking’, Tony? You didn’t hyperlink it!
Your style of communication, my man, is SO wry. Love it. You’re like a dry martini, to me.

  5. One of the Republican’s great minds, Rick Perry? His claim to fame went by quicker than the usual 15 minutes, which was fine by me.

  6. Tony this is the best ‘letter’ so far. While leaving out the average ‘murkicans edukashon you’ve managed to twist the e pen (mightier than…) even tighter. Laughed from the minute I read Oral Roberts and Liberty University since I saw where this was going.
Love the gouge at attorneys,, as well as the line ‘as drawn up by some very smart men in 1787. ‘
Thomas Jefferson… re-writer of portion of the bible. Oh you have such a clever and devious mind!

  7. I agree with the Constitutionalists….however, I also believe our founding fathers had high hopes for our new country. If they had imagined us declining into a society turning our backs on the poor or leave the sick to die (like the king & kingdom we left behind) perhaps they would have mentioned some of this in the Constitution.
I’m with Soma, let me know if you need a campaign manager !

    • Janet, yes – the trouble with the literal interpretation of the Constitution is that it was written by “men” of their time – 1787…things have changed eh? thanks, and i appreciate the kind offer both from yourself, and Soma, but the thing is you need to be either certifiable, messianic, an egomaniac, or like bush, a total uncurious, unconscious egomaniacle rich boy moron, to want that job…not sure what Obama is doing there – maybe since he’s black he was thinking he could change things for the better for his people, and all of us…as many of us hoped. i am not sure he, and we, even gauged the scope of the amount of sheer ignorance, hatred, unfounded fear, and violence, that would be fueled by the wealthy right wing of this country in blowback. anyway, thanks – and continue…

  10. Rick is my Gov….in a long line of ignorance he is tops. Worse still? He invites all the other ignorant to join him here in the great state of Texas so they can turn out children as ignorant as him. If he read the above he would publish it in the Austin Statesman as truth (except that paper still hates him).

  11. I enjoyed this Tony. I think the educated GOP scares me more than the uneducated. Some things can be chalked up to sheer ignorance…others are just righteous, blind inhumanity.

  12. If these fruitcakes think that gov’t stepping in to help the citizens of our country with with Social Security, insurance, fair pay, child labor laws, equal rights, etc is “socialism,” hey… then I am all for it! It’s a matter of semantics at this point, anyway, because they don’t understand the true definition of socialism. Even then, there are qualities about it that have it’s benefits. Sooooo….

Gimme an “S”! Gimme an “O”! Gimme an “C”! Gimme an “I”! Gimme an “A”! Gimme an “L”! Gimme an “I”! Gimme an “S”! Gimme an “M”!

    SOCIALISM! SOCIALISM! RAH RAH!!!

Sorry, Tony. Couldn’t help myself. Excellent writing and story. I just get so sick and tired of the GOPCons throwing names out at liberals and Dem’s out of fear and ignorance. Hell, so many think Obama is a commie. Come on now………. That’s a bit much.
