The Ballad of the Republican Plan or: You say Potato, I say Patahto, You say Tomato, I say Tamahto…

In Bohemian Grove in ‘09 the Republicans hatched their plan

Let’s get rid of this nigger Obama – ANY damn way we can

Long before they ever saw

What the man could do

To move us forward, they all swore

On their bibles to

Destroy the man even tho’

It meant destroying us

And to that end they threw us all

Underneath the bus

They aimed their blunder bus and took

Their potshots at “whatever”

He said “go” – they said “stop”

His “always” was their “never”

This black man in the White (man’s) House

This nigger with some power

He’s the Koch Bros deepest darkest

Nightmare come full flower

And so they set about

To neuter him, to geld him

Just like they did to slaves

(They’re pissed off they can’t sell him)

But they Jim Crow, and Legree him

They Scrooge him and they Grinch him

Too bad they cannot tell their Klan

To grab their sheets and lynch him

Anyway, the plan was simple

Drawn up by Herr Karl Rove

And all the richest right-wing freaks

In drag at Bohemian Grove

Goebells and the Nazis

Showed us how it’s done

Conrol the media – control the message

That’s job number one

And so they threw some millions

At the whore house known as Fox

With marching orders to spread lies

Through the idiot box

So Fox “news” started shoveling shit

That special Fox “news” way

Everything’s Obama’s fault

Bush/Cheney – who are they?

Obama’s healthcare bill Fox says

Won’t help the middle class

Omitting the gutting the GOP

Gave it ‘fore letting it pass

And we now know that Obamacare

Is just a Socialist ruse

That Progressives in the Senate

Are Commies – per Fox “News”

The economy is Obama’s fault

Bush/Cheney played no part

(And long before he bought one

They said Cheney had a heart)

Then they reasoned we should buy

Another insurance plan

And so their men on the Supreme Court

Were told “do what you can”

We’re gonna send this loony case

Called Citizen’s United

Up to you guys and you’d better rule

Our way tho’ the left will fight it

But just ignore these “do-good” jerks

And follow our directions

Roberts, Alito, Scalia, remember

It’s our right  to win elections

And no matter what Obama does

He’s painted ineffective

Per every daily poisonous

Republican directive

Ignore the facts, just concentrate

On lies, deceit, delay

Even if it kills the country

That’s the price our peasants must pay

After all we rich have ours

And who cares if you don’t

So when he says “we can, we will”

We say -“By God, we won’t”

And when he says

That something matters

And they say “what’s the diff”?

I hope to hell he tells them all

“Please – don’t jump off that cliff”

  3. I just threw up in my mouth. Not at your writing brilliance, at the disgust for all that this represents. 🙂

  6. Fantastic. Only thing I’d disagree with is
    “Ignore the facts, just concentrate
    On lies, deceit, delay
Even if it kills the country”
but they’re saving the country, Tony. It’s on the (False) news!

Think I’m going to find a republican club to throw up in now. What? It’s like a toilet.

  7. Another great ballad Tony ! I don’t know if I’ve mentioned this earlier, but I appreciate that you hold Fox accountable – so many assume news/stations are neutral ….

    • Thanks Janet – along with republicans making it impractical for kids to stay in school, and nearly impossible for them to go to college, right wing radio is a big part of the ongoing right-wing effort to “dumb down” our country. continue…

  8. Attach a bright red ball to Scalia’s nose, and he would make an excellent circus clown, and that is where he belongs. Keep the posts rolling, and keep the masses well informed. go on…

  9. As always, magnificent. Sadly, so poignantly true. Once again, another masterpiece. You never cease to amaze me. And this post reminds me… where is that book I ordered from Amazon that just came out. Don’t remember the name (I’m so very tired today), but about how many GOPcons met to discuss bringing down Obama. I posted about it.

  10. Another fine capture of the idiocy of our leaders..
On a serious note, we WERE filled with hope as a nation (all races) when he was elected and slowly the tightwads & idiots have chiseled away that hope. I’m a Barry fan ..Yup I am!

  11. This. Is. Priceless. Literally. Have heard of Bohemian Grove, and should NOT have been surprised to see this woven into your newest tome.
Fave stanza from this instant classic:

    Anyway, the plan was simple
Drawn up by Herr Karl Rove
And all the richest right-wing freaks
    In drag at Bohemian Grove

Tony my dear, you never fail to make me smile, cause my brain to go into overdrive, do even MORE research and steer readers to open their minds to new venues of exploration and thinking.
    Made marvelously as always.
    xoxoxo

p,s. bust a gut laughing at the Scalia pic. Let that fat fuck try living on the $75.00 a month that I (and god knows how many more million Americans) have allocated for food. For a full month. Watch them thar jowls wrinkle right into the turkey neck he is.
