THE LAND OF THE STUPID – AND WHAT’S TO BE DONE ABOUT IT

Let us immediately establish that we are not all stupid. Merely the ones who are now condemning those of us, who can still think for ourselves, to the sewer in which the Republican party now wallows in. Those of us who can still smell the sulfurous stench coming off of the bodies of Trump and his Republican toadies. And, make no mistake; without the fawning approval of the voting stupid this grotesque monster in the White House and his almost equally grotesque Republican enablers in Congress, and in the State Houses, would not be getting away with this ugly crime against our Democracy.

As in everything it is the base that allows a thing to “stand.” It is the carbohydrates, lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids that make up the “building blocks” at the base of life that allow life to exist. In a house it is the foundation. Things are not built from the top down they are built from the bottom up. You can’t name a good rock and roll band that doesn’t have a strong bass and drums to support the guitars. And we wouldn’t have an administration like the one we now have without its foundation; the base of the stupid. And this combination of the stupid supporting the greedy and the power hungry is destroying us.

The solution: And I am quite serious here – pictures. Pictures and graphs showing voters exactly why the Democrats are better for their pocketbooks, their social services, their environment…better for everything. Charts and graphs such as these for example;

And even though we who read are aware that numbers can be misleading – although these graphs above are backed by hard facts – so what? Tell that to FOX News which misleads people every single day. Visual aids such as these must be referred to, must be used constantly. Words do not penetrate an adult audience that pays serious attention to cartoons.

Here’s one – from The League of Conservative Voters no less – showing how little importance Republicans attach to the problems we face cleaning up our environment. 

I think a lot of people could be brought up short seeing how little regard Republicans have for the pressing problem of preserving our environment as opposed to hearing this fact.

Our Democratic politicians all across the board who are running for office from alderman on up through mayor, Governor, Representative, Senator and President must all begin showing, not telling, showing, how much better Democrats are and have always been for their lives and the lives of their children. And there’s a picture for every one of the points they must make to get Republicans out of office – and out of our lives.

And, since the voting group that we will need to save us will be the women of this country, the wives and mothers, the ones who really make the everyday decisions for the family, the ones who have their hands on the purse strings as it were, here’s a nice picture showing how little value the Republican Party really attaches to women…

The Democrats must now use pictures and graphs to make their points. One picture does indeed equal a thousand words.
