We are now in a pitched battle. A life and death struggle between the informed sane and the uninformed propagandized insane. Between the people who can believe in both God and science, and the ones who can believe only in God – and Qanon.
Have you watched “Into The Storm” on HBO? Of course Donald Trump is leading a hidden war against Satanist pedophiles in Hollywood and the Democratic Party. Who else would be doing such important and noble work? That anyone in their right mind could believe this is proof enough that we are fighting an army of lunatics. And the surreal insanely funny thing is; the current headline pedophiles are their fellow Republicans like Matt Gaetz, and Tennessee state Rep. David Byrd, and Alabama’s Roy Moore, and former Arizona Rep. David Stringer...and who knows what the sanctimonious homophobic hypocrite Lindsey Graham is up to – besides adult film star Sean Harding that is.
But, I digress…except maybe not. These people, who profess to be “patriots” (excuse me while i try to stop laughing) are filled with a deep, deep seated fear of this country becoming predominantly non-white. They are, in the main, ignorant, insecure, racist, xenophobic, homophobic, and fear-based factphobic. They are people who should go somewhere far, far way and form their own hate-filled country. Moronia would be a good name for such a place.
These people refuse to be vaccinated because science is the devil’s work and, of course, God will protect them against Covid-19 – even though their refusal to do so will keep this pandemic alive – and keep killing people. This last outcome however is no concern of their particular version of “Christianity. They are people who cannot be reasoned with because their belief, which comes from a patchwork of conspiratorial lies woven by an invisible cult figure coupled with a blind faith in a bearded white man in the sky, is no match for reality – or science. Oh, yes… we can be sure that the bearded white man in the sky will protect these “patriots” from contracting Covid-19 when he isn’t busy visiting hurricanes and floods upon them.
These paragons of intransigent stupidity are the spawn of the decades-long Republican plan to destroy public school education and colleges. The thing Republicans fear most is the thing every authoritarian ruler has always feared above all: an educated, enlightened, informed populace. A secular fact-based education is the bane of every ruthless tyrant and con artist the world over. The ignorance brought about by suffocating a fact-based secular education is the life blood of our own Republican party – and of every other right-wing ruling party everywhere.

I bet the $3000+ per grandchild will be welcomed. I wonder if the sister who said she couldn’t possibly vote for that socialist Biden will recognise that she’s a hypocrite.

I’ll leave it to my nieces and nephews. They challenge them with the same results I get, but at least there is some effort to stay on speaking terms.
