The verdict is read, the crowd cheers, the circus rolls on…lost upon these “concerned”

citizens who are gathered to witness someone’s head cut off, is the fact that their country is being stolen from them, and that they, and their children, have been placed at the mercy of a system rigged to insure they fail. Their overweening interest in seeing “justice” done somehow doesn’t extend to anything that might require an ounce of brain power to figure out. Way too much effort involved in this. These people, who our politicians can always count on to be curious about the wrong things, are the product of the post-Reagan effort to dumb us down. This crowd doesn’t gather to protest their inability to get a job.. This crowd doesn’t gather to protest the closing of schools. They don’t gather to protest their elected officials fucking them over. This crowd is concerned with something far more important to them. They care more about Michael Jackson, who, surprise, is no longer alive, than they do about themselves – and their children. There is something very wrong about this picture. Michael Jackson begged a doctor to give him something strong to put him to sleep. He paid 150,000 dollars a month to this doctor to make sure the man would do what he was told. Who was guiltier in this drama? What about the system that somehow creates such a situation? Shouldn’t a culture that makes such a situation possible be examined? Shouldn’t a system that allows someone – anyone – to obtain a drug that should only be administered in a hospital operating room, under the strict supervision of a trained anesthesiologist, be judged guilty? Most, if not all, of the people in this crowd who followed every detail of this event, however minute, can give you some kind of an opinion on whether what befell Mr. Jackson was his own fault, or the doctor’s…very few of them though will pause in their “concern”, however misplaced, about the details of this event, or of any spectacle, any gossip, any sideshow, any diversion – the more lurid the better – to question the system that brings about such a sorry spectacle. I know I can’t prove it, but I suspect that if you asked them, fully 80% to 90% of the Jackson voyeurs have not heard of the Republican efforts to make it difficult to impossible for people such as themselves to vote in the upcoming election – or, if by some chance, Fox-TV “News” ever mentioned it, does it much concern them. They are more concerned with the important issues of the day, such as Lindsay Lohan’s arrests, and the Michael Jackson freak show. They neither understand, nor will they ever question the culture of celebrity, or the commodification of human beings – after all, there is mindless diversion to be had – and money to be made…and what is more important than that?
Barking In The Dark 
I find it beyond belief that some one rich and famous can get away with only serving a few hours for something that would involve a complete ban, huge fine and up to 2 years prison time over here. As for the fuss the media make over it well it just makes it worse.
Your American Doctor laws are also beyond belief – not only the fact that man could get hold of the drugs, but the whole system stinks. It doesn’t matter if you cause horrifying long term illnesses to your patients that’s what insurance is for and then you can move on to some other poor unsuspecting fool… the fact you can continue to practice is unbelievable….

Sheeple. I don’t know how to reach them. Daily there is more mind-melting crap on the tube to distract and occupy. Daily those with an agenda NOT in our best interest gain more power. Daily we lose a little more of our freedom. I agree with you, Tony. I hope there is a revolution. It seems the only way to wake the sleeping dog.

I think it’s interesting that corporations are so interested in real psychology these days. They’re being more open about about their desire to control our pocketbooks with it because they know the few of us who are paying attention couldn’t get the others to listen to us even if we had it on videotape. They’ve been conditioned not to see what they see or hear what they hear. Corporations are insidious. Republicans seem to have stumbled onto mind control like successful bullies do. The sheep are in the pot and they’re turning up the heat so slowly, they don’t notice how hot it is. Sigh.
