Clemens is on trial for “juice”
Edwards for campaign abuse
But Cheney and W
Reduced Iraq to rubble who
Lied just to do it – are loose
Bradley Manning told all of us facts
The Pentagon’s political hacks
Don’t want us to know
So now he must go
On trial for his heroic acts
One hundred sixty thousand are dead
By George Bush’ hand, Cheney’s head
Yet they walk around free
In our “democracy”
Where the rich run what’s done and what’s said
Julian Assange with some verve
Threw the militant warhawks a curve
When he used Wikileaks
To bust the Pentagon freaks
Imagine; the truth –what a nerve!
So tell me again – what’s obscene?
I need to be clear what this means
Why’s a war where kids die
That’s based on a lie
Just a matter of ho-hum routine
And a blowjob is really the sin
Not the bloodbath Dick and Bush got us in
I’m really perplexed
Values voters think sex
Is dirty – but war’s never been
So tell me again –what’s obscene?
What’s dirty and what the hell’s clean
Why pornography’s vile
But we wave flags and smile
When we bomb and send in the Marine’s
And is it okay that the blood
Of the dead in the dust and the mud
Be washed from the hands
Of the liars who scammed
Us by claiming Iraqis had Scuds
And Cheney and Bush who’re to blame
For all this death walk unashamed
While John, Rog, and Brad
Not only break bad
But may enter some prison in chains
So I ask once again what’s obscene
What is filth, what is dirt, what’s unclean?
A ballplayer’s on trial
While the vilest of vile
Live in high style on our TV screen
So let me ask just one more time
Is this now the new paradigm?
Do we now let real villains
Who did some real killin’
Go free for this most heinous crime?
Yes, Bush and Dick are who I mean
One stupid, one slick, both obscene

thank you all for these wonderful comments. i am back for now. see you all tomorrow. xo
Bush, Cheney, Rice and Rumsfeld, should all be tried for lying, and starting two wars all paid for by the middle and lower class. Talk about a nation that has been turned upside down on its head. go on…
p.s. hoping your pilot script is coming along.
Dead on, Tony. Not a word out of place.
Shout it from the rooftops, man.
Hope the pilot is coming together well.
And Rachael – you should fill the trunk with marinade for situations like that.
Or so I’ve been told… 😉
EG: well there’s still some snow up there which could have been used with the marrow and rib meat to make a nice stock. Have to remember to keep a bottle of garlic olive oil, Worcestershire and some spices in the emergency kit.
Just as well this trip anyway. Forgot the damned Fava beans
So poignantly and painfully truthful. Another masterpiece penned (or typed) by the Master (okay, that was redundant). It made me ache to read it, so that means it’s so vividly truthful, I can feel the horror in our society and government.
Hope the script is going well! Later gator!
To paraphrase Jack Nicholson: Fondle a boob, you get an R rating. Chop it off, you get a G.
As for Bush and Cheney, you are right. They are war criminals, along with Condi and Rumsfeld. But they did it with our permission. If there had been a draft with no deferments allowed – the war would have lasted less than a year or wouldn’t have happened at all. Even with that said, it took 58,000 deaths and a million plus Vietnamese deaths before that war stopped. When I contemplate all this, I have to wonder if my ideas about this country are simply the result of years of denial. Can we keep saying, “But we’re the good guys?” If we are the good guys, by what metrics are we good? Our health care system ranks well below other countries. Our infant mortality rate is shockingly high. Our per capita charitable giving rate is way below other countries. We spend more on our pets than we do on helping poor people escaping from the poverty cycle. But we’re definitely the best at saying “We’re the best!”
“To paraphrase Jack Nicholson: Fondle a boob, you get an R rating. Chop it off, you get a G.”
You are so right. And that is so fucked up.
Painfully true once again Tony!
Thoughtful in a thoughtless nation.
What a thought provoking brilliant ballad this is Tony…..absolutely marvelous…clever choice of words…
Oh i so loved it 🙂
great to see you back..and how 🙂
Tony, good to see you and hope the script is going well.
This was so good.
Spent the day from Truckee, actually Donner Pass (are you hungry? want some dinner? How about YOU?) to Carson City (our state’s capitol where prostitution and all else that is Nevada is five minutes away legally… but there too. Oh and our governor has been caught on at least three different occasions with hookers… and has spent less than 10 days a year in the capitol seat) looking for a cheap-ass RV. Me. Not the married governor.
Get to the Point! -best Woody Allen film voice-
You are so right, On the travels today saw no less than 11 HUGE billboard sized signs debasing Obama, proclaiming Bush as a hero and so many more showing the redneck idiocy endemic in this state.
Your post is JUST what I needed to see tonight. Truly,. You give me hope.
Have said since I was 12 years old… ‘what is worse? pornography -before I even knew what it really was, just seeing the parent’s Playboy magazines on the coffee table- or the death I saw on the TV every night as a kid during the Vietnam war?’
Did a debate on this in 8th grade. Won. Piss off to the psychos. We know who they are. You reveal them with rhyme and style,
Rock on my dear.
I like dark meat. Got a thigh left over?
Michelle, he passenger in my car became suspicious when he saw me sharpening the chef’s knife…. in the trunk.
Will do better next time
Okay. Thanks… keep me posted.
