On This Day of Remembrance We Must Never Forget…

…that it was George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who blatantly ignored

repeated warnings by the CIA and other security agencies that Osama Bin Laden was “determined” to attack us on our soil.

And on this very day the war criminal Dick Cheney chooses to remind us that it is President Barack Obama who is soft on terrorism, and will weaken us defensively. This scurrilous lie would be laughable were it not so sad. Not only did Bush/Cheney ignore all the warning brought to them by the CIA and other agencies which led directly to 9/11, but they then preyed on the raw inflamed emotions of the citizens of this country and lied us into an undeclared war with the innocent country of Iraq. A war that has cost the lives of 4,487 US troops, and wounded 32,223, 20% of which are serious brain or spinal injuries. as well as almost 120,000 civilian lives, while stealing our tax dollars for this misadventure and  bankrupting our economy.

We must never forget this when the Republican party asks for our vote and our trust, and claims they alone can protect us. We must never forget that Cheney’s former company Halliburton made a small fortune on this neat little war of his.

Here is the link to my music video remembrance on this day:

PLEASE VOTE.

P.S. On the anniversary of 9/11 we must remember a few things. I will also add to this previous blog that thanks to the disastrous economic policies of the Bush/Cheney admin which not only impacted us but also took down many of the economies of the western world (our allies) that if we choose to be the world’s policeman – we will be alone. No country is now willing to squander more lives and treasure on military incursions into other lands far from them. So, in effect, the greed and ineptitude of the Bush/Cheney economic policy may have done us an unintended great favor in putting a check on our military actions – lest we go it alone. I will add that I believe President Obama has played the Syrian crisis with the adroitness of a great chess master, using the threat of power to force Russia into putting pressure on it’s ally Syria to get them to turn over it’s chemical weapons. It is interesting to note that the usually gung-ho for war Republicans can ruin the “threat” – and the leverage – by their carrying a vote against Obama – who, make no mistake – does not want a war, but does want to force Syria’s hand…and seems at this hour to have done just that.

  1. There has been some hand wringing by the Con/Lib pact here in recent days. The Blair legacy was to make the people and Parliament sceptical and cynical regarding more charge to military action. Just when we’d got used to the idea that Parliament was just another club of corrupt politicians the Backbenchers stood up to be counted. The Bush/Blair legacy may well yet turn out to be not what they wanted. We can only hope that the history books will show that their folly and ploy of misinformation finally made the Western world tire of war and the needless loss of life on all fronts (pun intended). The next battles will then be fought over corporate corruption.

I’d been disappointed in Obama (not a Syria thing). I’d hoped for more movement on Cuba and Guantanamo during his terms in Office. But your video reminds me just how distasteful the last lot were. Onwards and upwards, Tony.

  3. Bush & Company turned terrorism into a full time business and/or commodity. Surprised it isn’t traded on Wall St. The video was spot on, and as always, your post is great. Be well Tony.

  8. No need to remind me. That knot in my stomach comes back every time I think about Bush and his cronies. I’ll never forget.

  9. Sad that we need to be reminded, and that the story has been bent for political gain.
