The Ballad of Our Payroll Tax Cut or: GOP: “Give us the Oil and You Can Have Your Lousy Thousand”

English: at CPAC in .

Image via Wikipedia

They clicked their heels and all saluted, all red tied and all blue suited

All heil Grover Norquist – you’re our Fuhrer

Payroll tax cut? Thousand bucks?

For who? For all these working schmucks?

Don’t they know that suffering makes them purer?

We’ll only do it for the pipeline; the measly thousand is their lifeline

We Republicans believe it’s a fair ransom

Our bread is buttered with this oil

And if the Keystone kills the soil

Our oil corporation’s pay’s still handsome

And fuck “the people” anyway, who gives a shit for what they say

They’re dummies who believe the crap we tell ‘em

We tell ‘em rich folks “create jobs”

They swallow it in gobs and gobs

They gulped Iraq – ain’t no bridge we can’t sell ‘em

The Senate Dems bill cut our tax, and the right wing House took out their axe

Attaching Keystone oil to the bill

Which has jack shit and less to do

With a tax cut aimed at me and you

But puts cash in the greedy Right-Wing’s till

So Boehner and his band of thugs are willing to pull all our plugs

By gambling that the Dems again will give in

The Republicans don’t give a fuck

They worship the almighty buck

Except it comes to folks makin’ a livin’

The smash-and-grab Republicans not caring who they hurt for wins

Backed by the righteous hypocrites of purity

They’ve come for unions, Medicare

Killed schools and jobs, my friends beware

They won’t rest ‘til they get social security

I wonder if a day will come when people finally lose their dumb

And figure out who’s for the ninety-niners

The ones who always have our back

Or those whose method is attack

The smash-and-grab-and-fuck-you-I-got-miners

  2. I see that the Republicans just ‘caved’, as the headline read.

THAT means it’s awards time. YOU have one waiting for you at my place.

    • well…yippee so far, but they still have to button it up tomorrow so…and i still haven’t been able to find out if that obscene koch bros/keystone oil pipeline is still in the mix (which oil contrary to the right’s bullshit i hear will be for export to china and not for our use.) anyway, thank you for my award, i appreciate the recognition Janece, and the kind comments you always leave me. continue…

  4. I don’t usually make suggestions to other artists, but I’m breaking my rule. Will you please work your magic on the word “uncertainty?” I’m sitting here watching not a single media pundit ask Republicans to explain what they mean when they say certainty and uncertainty; not following up when the R’s say they’ve already passed the payroll tax cut for a year with “reforms” to unemployment insurance. They should have to explain themselves. Okay, rant over.

    • if they get their scum per cent fee
      then they’ll have less uncertainty.
does that explain it? yeah, some of these “pundits” – with too few exceptions – don’t ask the tough follow-up lest they antagonize a recurring guest. sadly, in way too many cases it’s purely just a show. notable exceptions to this are dylan ratigan, martin bashir, and lawrence o’donnell. these R’s don’t give rat’s ass, and now it’s becoming a game for them to see just how far they can push whatever it is as long as it’s against whatever Obama wants – as you already know. thanks for the rant Lisa h, i appreciate it. continue…
